What greater way to usher in the holiday season than to share it with our heroes and their families. Our Annual Holiday Dinner for military families was sponsored by Azalea Charities and hosted by Giorgio’s Family Restaurant.  This event took place on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 4:30 to 7:30 at Giorgio’s Family Restaurant in Montclair, VA.

Over 80 military personnel and families from Quantico and Walter Reed Army Medical Center attended the fest. Both children and adults got to meet Santa Claus and receive gifts from his Christmas bag.  The group was entertained by the Forest Park Jazz Choir, who sang a selection of holiday and patriotic favorites. Giorgio’s presented a gourmet holiday feast that included ham, turkey, and beef, along with all the trimmings.

According to Doug Taggart, President of Azalea Charities and Master of Ceremonies for this event, “We look forward to this event every year - meeting our heroes and seeing the smiling faces of the children. This is what Christmas is all about."
