Team Azalea Charities

Fundraising resources available to you

Team Azalea Charities is committed to give you the resources to make your fundraising a positive experience and pass along our ideas to make your fundraising goal a reality.

Just like last year, we’ll pass along a sample email and memo you can personalize and send to your family, friends, co-workers, small businesses or potential corporate sponsors.

We will also pass along any information you need to better understand how we are helping wounded soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as helping veterans from previous wars since we’re committed to not forget our heroes long after they disappear from the headlines.

Once again we have partnered with Active Giving so you can set up an individual fundraising web page to serve as a virtual home for pointing your prospective sponsors/donors to a site which can describe why you are doing the Marine Corps Marathon and raising money for our Aid for Wounded Soldiers project. The individual web page you easily build at www.active.com/donate/AzaleaCharities will also track your donors and the amount you’ve raised against a personal goal you establish.

Active Giving also provides the ability for you as a fundraiser and Azalea Charities to accept secure on-line credit card donations, making it much easier for prospective donors to respond to your emails with only a few clicks of the mouse. Your contributors can still donate by writing a personal check using a donation form that can be downloaded from this web site and mailed directly to the Azalea Charities.  You won’t personally have to deal with handling any checks or credit card information since Azalea Charities and Active Giving will take care of those details for you.

We’ll have other fundraising strategies, ideas, and resources at your disposal once you sign up to join Team Azalea Charities. Though we’re already supporting servicemen and women at a handful hospitals like Walter Reed, Bethesda, Malcolm Grow, Landstuhl and Balad, our goal is to grow our fundraising base so we can eventually support veterans visiting VA hospitals and DoD medical facilities across the country.

Finally, go to Active Giving Help to download written instruction if you need assistance for setting up your web page, or get more fundraising tips and a fundraising checklist.
