Volunteer Task Coordinators
The volunteer positions listed below involve a commitment of just a handful of hours over the coming months to help recruit runners for our 2010 Team Azalea Charities and/or help plan for our premier service offering at the Marine Corps Half Marathon event in May 2010 and Marine Corps Marathon and 10K teams event in October 2010.
General Team Azalea Charities’ Volunteer Support:

Recruiting coordinators -- help market our availability of 25 bibs for the Marine Corps Half Marathon (May 16, 2010), and 150 bibs for the Marine Corps Marathon and 10K (October 25, 2010). Also help promote athletes to compete in other individual events of their choice as their Aid for Wounded Warriors fundraising venue for 2010.

Recognition coordinator – assist our Aid for Wounded Warriors committee lead in drafting and distributing thank you memos and receipts to donors for their check donations (online credit card donation recipients receive an auto-generated email thank you note and receipt).

Coach and/or Training coordinator -- provide online training advice to team members, and if located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, be willing to organize some weekend training runs.

Fundraising coordinator – assist team members with fundraising ideas and willing to expand fundraising toolkit online as resource site for first class fundraising materials.
Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) Event Volunteer Support:

Race Weekend volunteer coordinator – lead our volunteer recruiting efforts to fill our race weekend volunteer positions to staff the Team Azalea Charities booth at the MCM Health & Fitness Expo (Oct 29-30), as well as staff key points on the race course with Azalea signs and noise makers and the finish line tent where runners are greeted with food (Oct 31).

MCM Finish Line Charity Village coordinator – lead the logistics efforts associated with the food, equipment and race day volunteer staff handing out food and beverages to runners at the finish line (Oct 31, 2010).

MCM Running Expo coordinator – lead our Team Azalea Charities volunteers staffing our booth at the Health and Fitness Expo on 29-30 October 2010.

MCM Pasta Lunch (October 30, 2010) coordinator – Lead the effort to secure RSVPs from runners and guest attending our pasta lunch at Buca di Beppo Restaurant (1825 Connecticut Ave. NW D.C.). Duties also involve reserving the restaurant and selecting a menu with a contract, calling in the RSVP numbers to the restaurant by October 26th, and coordinating with charity CFO to pay the restaurant bill.
