Douglas S. Taggart has been named President of Azalea Charities, Inc., in Prince William County, Virginia. He has served on the Azalea Charities Board of Directors for eight years.
Taggart is President of Overlook Systems Technologies, Inc. a professional engineering and technical services firm headquartered in Vienna, Virginia. Taggart is retired after 21 years of service in the Coast Guard, where he served on assignments in radio navigation research and development, system engineering, operations and program management.
Taggart is a Council Member of the U.S. Institute of Navigation and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Loran Association. Also, he is Chairman of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – USA (IEEE-USA) Committee on Communications Policy, Vice Chair of the Transportation and Aerospace Policy Committee, and member of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee.

Azalea Charities is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Prince William County, Virginia. The organization is staffed entirely by volunteers who donate their time, talent and money. Azalea Charities raises funds for Aid for Wounded Warriors and its community charities through membership fees, private donations and sponsorship of special events such as the Marine Corps Marathon and the Azalea Classic Pro-Am Invitational Golf Classic, the organization's keystone event held each May. Beyond minimal expenses, all the funds they raise go to their charitable core causes.
