PRESS RELEASE
Chenega Federal Systems Presents Donation Check of $46,975 for Azalea Charities Aid for Wounded Warriors
On July 29th, 2011, Chenega Federal Systems presented a donation check of $46,975 to Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors. The donation came directly from the proceeds of the 5th Annual Chenega Invitational held this past spring. With 144 participants and 36 teams, the event proved to be a great success, raising support for the charity through registration fees, raffle ticket sales, donations, sponsorships and a competitive silent auction.
The growth of this tournament over the years has been overwhelming. In 2007, the Chenega Invitational hosted more than 60 players, raising $14,000, and has continued to grow exponentially throughout the years, with more than $125,000 in donations given in total to Aid for Wounded Warriors. The money collected this year will go towards Aid for Wounded Warriors, which aims to lift the spirits and enhance the morale of military men and women who have been injured in the line of duty. Proceeds in the amount of $25,000 will also go directly to the family of a local wounded Army veteran, Jay Briseno. Jay’s father, Joe, was at the tournament to share the story of his son’s catastrophic injuries, and expressed complete gratitude for the support and contributions that will go toward building a specialized home that will ensure the best treatment and quality of life for Jay. Chenega Federal Systems continues to support the community through charitable events and looks forward to the 6th Annual Chenega Invitational in 2012. If you are interested in participating in this yearly event, please contact Marketing Coordinator Helen Hilios at Helen.Hilios@chenega.com.

ABOUT AZALEA CHARITIES’ AID FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS
Azalea Charities, located in Prince William County, Virginia, is an all-volunteer organization that focuses on a dual mission to support community charities and Aid for Wounded Warriors. For more information, see www.azaleacharities.org.
As part of its focus on Aid for Wounded Warriors, Azalea Charities helps to fill the gaps that occur when the needs of our wounded heroes are not entirely met by the military or Veterans Administration (VA). We provide help for our service people as well as the families who stand behind them. Our support is adapted to the need – ranging from mortgage and rent payments, gas cards and Wal-Mart cards to special needs such as the training of service dogs and provision of services to caregiving families. We focus on the following areas: outreach to VA and Military Hospitals; Quality of Life Foundation (caregivers); Thomas Jerome House (traumatic brain injuries); Air Compassion for Veterans (transportation for wounded and families); partner organizations; veterans; and Allied Forces wounded.
