Chenega Invitational Golf Tournament

Chenega Invitational Hits Half-Million Mark

In its twelfth year, the annual Chenega Invitational Charity Golf Tournament raised $80,000, bringing its fundraising total since its inception to over $500,000.

All proceeds benefited Azalea Charities’ Aid for Wounded Warriors, MIOS’s longtime philanthropic partner.

In one of the largest turnouts in the event’s history, more than 160 players, sponsors and volunteers from throughout the community and beyond came out to Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, Virginia, to support the cause. In addition to honoring our service members and wounded warriors, MIOS President John “JC” Campagna also dedicated the tournament to Chenega Corporation Chief Information Officer Rick Kessler, a longtime Chenega employee and supporter who could not attend the event due to health concerns.

Several weeks prior to the tournament, MIOS also hosted its first-ever Brews for the Brave, a family-friendly fundraising event featuring beer tastings, music, games and activities. More than one hundred people attended to sample craft beers from local breweries, play games and win raffle prizes, with all proceeds contributing to MIOS’s donation total to Azalea Charities for the year.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, Chenega MIOS is a shared services division of Chenega Corporation. With its collective companies it provides premier services to federal and commercial customers throughout the world and was rated one of Virginia’s Best Places to Work by Virginia Business Magazine.
